Lindie Sue's Upscale Resell logo: the name in pink script inside a pink and gold circle, with a pink bow at the top.

Upscale Resell · 461 S Thompson Ave, Excelsior Springs

Your party is already walking past the door.

The Elms is a few doors up the same block. We keep bride caps, rodeo tees and the small gifts a bridesmaid ends up buying at four in the afternoon, and we will hold the lot at the register while you finish brunch.

Proposal, not yet a service. Needs the owner's yes.

Cream trucker cap with a pink brim, embroidered BRIDE in raised pink block letters, beside a pink and blue daisy print tumbler.

Why this block, of all blocks

Excelsior Springs has a spa hotel in the middle of a walkable historic downtown, and a party that books it spends Saturday afternoon on foot within about two streets.

We are on that stretch, on Thompson Avenue, with a rack pushed out onto the sidewalk under a pink umbrella.

Six girls, one afternoon.

What a party of six usually leaves with, in the order they usually pick it up.

  1. The bride cap

Cream crown, pink brim, BRIDE raised in pink. One, obviously.

  2. A slogan cap each for the rest

Expensive & Difficult, On My Worst Behavior, Pretty Please. Leopard and camo brims. They will argue over these for twenty minutes.

    Five
  3. Rodeo tees

Ain't My First Rodeo in washed pink, or the goose in the cowboy boots if somebody in the group is funny.

    Two or three
  4. Tumblers

Daisy print and hot pink. These come home and stay in the car for a year.

    Six
  5. Gold earrings

Hoops and studs off the stand by the register, for whoever forgot hers.

    Two pairs
  6. One thing for the mother of the bride

Usually a bag or a wrap, usually decided in the last four minutes.

Bringing a group

Call ahead

Tell us how many and roughly when. One room only holds so many people at once, and an afternoon is easier for everybody if we know you are coming.

Still to confirm

Whether the shop will open outside normal hours for a party, put a group order together in advance, or wrap for a shower. Needs the owner's answer

It is one room, and it is pink.

Gold pressed tin ceiling, two spiral chandeliers, brass rails, white tables, a blush wall behind the counter.

Above the register there is a little girl in a gold frame. The shop is named after her, and her mother and grandmother run it.

Inside the shop: gold spiral chandeliers, brass rails, white display tables of folded tees and a blush pink back wall.
